Tonight I Dined: Sabores Dominican Restaurant

Crossing the river from Shreveport you will enter Bossier City, Louisiana. Driving a few miles from the river banks along Industrial Dr., you'll come across a small, unassuming building serves up some awesome Dominican food. When you walk into Sabores the wall-sized chalkboard advertises their daily vegan specials! I ordered the eggplant balls (vegan albondigas) entree that comes with a side of rice and beans. The sauce was tomatoey and peppery, but not spicy. This was one of the most unique and tasty sauces I have ever had (I want a bottle to take home, pleasssse)! The eggplant balls were so tender but nicely crisp on the outside. And the rice and beans were the best addition to soak up the amazing sauce. Vegans, do not skip Sabores if you are in northern Louisiana because it is offering a lot to those with plantbased palates.
