Strawberry Fields Forever 🍓

I had a wonderful time strawberry picking this weekend at Froberg's Family Farm in the Houston suburb of Alvin. I love going to orchards and it's somewhat of a tradition for me. I picked fruit almost every summer growing up, and even a few times during college at Linvilla Orchards in Media, a suburb of Philly. This is the first time I've gone picking since moving to Texas...I always thought the drive to the farm would be farther, but it was just 20 minutes outside city limits.

At Froberg's you can pick-your-own strawberries from January through late May, and while that was the only crop they had growing this weekend, the vegetables are coming soon! I have never picked veggies (a bucket list item for a vegan no doubt), and I'll be on the look out for pick-your-own green beans, tomatoes, sweet and hot peppers, and eggplant in the coming months!

I also filled my cart at their country store. Their produce prices were pretty good and I got a huge box of onions and some cabbage. Oh, and their kettle corn is amazing. It's made with coconut oil, a vegan fave!
