Tonight I Dined: Oddball Eats
OddBall Eats is a Houston food truck that often parks at the Eastside Farmer's Market on Saturdays, but it's usually hard for me to catch them otherwise. I've tried their foul before, a hummus-like dish made with fava beans, and one of my favorite dishes to eat period. I've even tried my hand at a foul recipe, although it doesn't come close to how delicious it is at Oddball.
Yesterday I peeped the truck when it was parked at the HEB grocery store on West Alabama around dinner time. It's an awesome location because you can buy single cans or bottles of beer (for $1.50-$2 each) and chips or whatever sides/snacks you want and head to the outdoor dining area. While the truck does serve meat, they label their vegan options, which is totally appreciated!! I ordered the falafel sandwich because I've been craving one for a while. The sandwich is served on a thin chewy pita that is filled with fresh tomatoes, crisp cucumber and a tahini sauce that is out of this world. The falafel balls were large with a nice crispy outside and soft interior. They were spicier than your average falafel and I absolutely loved it!
