Beer Cheese 🍺
I tried the beer cheese recipe from Hot For Food...come to think of it, this may be the first HFF recipe I've tried despite having watched a lot of their Youtube vids. I followed their recipe more or less but made some tweaks of my own. It was so creamy and delicious and though there was almost a whole can of beer, there was only the slightest hint of ale. I personally love beer and could have definitely used even more beer flavor, but the flavor from the sauteed veggies and nooch was yummy all the same. I topped my bowl with Daiya cheddar slices and that's what you see in the picture (the cheese sauce itself was a slightly paler yellow, colored by the carrot). It got messy at the end, but the whole thing was devoured. Every. Last. Bite.
Also, note that this recipe makes a lot of sauce! The boule loaf I bought was on the small side (maybe about 6 inches in diameter) and only about 1/3 of the sauce fit in the bowl. So...either get yourself a huge loaf and take it to a party to share with a room of people, or have a plan for these leftovers. I think I'll dip some crisp veggies into the sauce tomorrow!
