Something I Tried: Trader Joe's Vegan Cream Cheese

Up next: another cheezy product review! I've had this Trader Joe's vegan cream cheese in the past, but not for a long time (and if you click the link, you'll see the packaging was wildly different). I actually rarely buy cream cheese, because I don't use it for anything other than bagels. With vegan and non-vegan cream cheese I'm sure, once you open the container, it stays good a week, maybe two...and I just can't eat enough bagels to use it all up! While Earth Balance, on the other hand, I use for bagels/toast, cooking (think gumbo!), and baking.

Ok, back to the cream cheese. First off, the container was $2.50, and I must say that it's the cheapest vegan cream cheese I've ever bought! While it may be cheap in price, it's not lacking in flavor...the taste was exactly what I want out of a cream cheese. This morning I schmeared it on an Einstein's bagel (btw, if you want to sign the petition to get vegan cream cheese at the chain, here it is!) and it held up well on the toasted bagel. My only complaint is that the container is watery, like in the way when you open up some yogurts there's some liquid on top...I'm sure that's natural separation, but you either have to mix it in, or avoid it!
