Tonight I Dined: Juiceland

Juiceland is the O.G. juice bar of Austin. They have locations all over the city. They actually opened a Houston location a little over a year ago in the Heights, and of course I've stopped by for their delicious smoothies (Julio Verde is my personal fave).

Recently I was watching vegan Youtuber Edyn Jacks and she got a grab-and-go seitan gyro from Juiceland ATX. And I had to have it. Usually I order the smoothie at the walk-up window, so I never noticed the grab-and-go cold case of all vegan food inside the store. The gyro is made with juicy house-made seitan, red onions and lettuce. I ate it cold, but I imagine you could warm it up too. It is delicious, chewy, and filling, but the star is the cucumber tzatziki. It packs so much flavor, and all of it refreshing. I want it on everything: it would be a real winning condiment at summer picnics and bbqs. But watch out for the hot sauce. This potent stuff was definitely made in Texas, cause just a drop of it had me screaming for water.
