Something I Tried: Follow Your Heart Vegan Egg

I finally got around to trying the Follow Your Heart Vegan Egg...I picked it up a few months ago from Wheatsville Co-op in Austin, but nowadays I see it around Houston pretty regularly. It comes in a cute egg carton, and inside is a plastic baggie with the powder mix...it doesn't need to be refrigerated, which was a plus when I was transporting it from ATX-->HTX.When mixing the powder with water it smelled so much like an egg..and when the mixture hit the oiled skillet it began cooking up and solidifying like a real egg, but this is where the similarities end. Maybe it's because I haven't had eggs in 14 years, but I don't think the taste was similar (or if the taste is similar, and can't remember, then I'm not missing much!). The texture is more similar to a real egg than tofu, but it was a lil' slimy and gelatinous for me. I seasoned the egg with salt, pepper, a little garlic powder, and topped it with nooch and green onion. The verdict is in, for me, I much prefer a good scrambled tofu to this vegan egg. Have y'all tried it? Thoughts on the Vegan Egg vs. Tofu Scramble debate?
