Tonight I Dined: Cheng's Garden
Thank you Happycow! Honestly, in a town that's not so rad for vegans I spotted reviews for a hidden gem. Cheng's Garden has a large vegetarian/vegan section and of course I jumped at the opportunity to order the General Tso's tofu. Tbh, it was one of the best dishes I've had so far in 2017. For real, Cheng's is cooking some fantastic tofu in Shreveport Louisiana!
The portion was huge, with tons of crispy tofu squares in a sweet, tangy and slightly spicy sauce. Each bite was perfectly balanced with a crunchy exterior and soft inside, and a sauce that clung to all the nooks and crannies. There was lots of extra sauce that I ate with the white rice...it was delicious!
This is a must if you're searching for vegan options in Northern Louisiana. I left full and so, so happy!
