Something I Tried: Trader Joe's Spicy Taco Sauce

I am very excited to review this Trader Joe's taco sauce, because I don't think I've ever bought a proper taco sauce. Yes, I have a refrigerator full of hot sauce...basically a never ending stock of Cholula chili garlic. A taco sauce is tomato-based and so slightly thicker than a vinegar-based hot sauce. For about $2.50 for a large 17 oz. bottle, I'd say I got my money's worth.

The bottle is designed with flames and a skeleton, so you would think that it's hot as h*ll. But the spice meter on the back (not pictured) showed that it was more along medium spice, so Don't Fear the Reaper. I used this sauce as a topper for some tacos I made with refried beans, avocado, and fresh cilantro. My first taco spice did not disappoint. It was full flavor, tomatoey, and had just the right amount of heat to keep my interest. I really enjoyed this and think it will be a great addition to all my future tacos...and tofu scramble...and chili...
