Tonight I Dined: Miss Rachel's Pantry

In South Philly there is a great little place called Miss Rachel's Pantry. Tucked among row homes and crowded autobody shops, you will find the door to this vegan paradise. At the pantry, there is a small menu and cold case with sandwiches and desserts. In the middle of the room is one large table...it really feels like your sitting in your aunt's dining room (in a good way). I ordered the caramelized onion knish that they heated up and made perfectly crisp and paired with a side salad dressed in a basil vinaigrette (bottle that herbed delightfulness up and sell this pleaaase)!  This hearty pastry had the perfect texture, and so much flavor from the onion, which made it both sweet and super savory. For dessert I had the smores bar. The dark chocolate layer was smooth and luscious, the marshmallow just-sweet-enough, and the graham crust sweet and buttery...drool, I could eat the whole pan! I wish Miss Rachel would open a pantry down here in cowboy country!
Knish please!
