Tonight I Dined: Albasha
While in Louisiana I stopped at one of my favorite breweries, Abita. I took the tour and was delighted at the discussion of sustainability in every step of their process. They have the 2nd biggest solar panel installation in the state (second only to LSU) and their special bottle shape uses less glass than the traditional ones.
Being in a smaller town (Abita Springs/Covington), there weren't a lot of nearby vegan options. There was a Mellow Mushroom, which has vegan cheeze pizzas and tofu hoagies, but I opted for Albasha Mediterranean. They have 8 other locations around the state, so it must be pretty popular!
I ordered the baba ghanouj and a side of fries. The eggplant dip was creamy with a nice, roasted flavor and prominent tahini. It was delicious and hit the spot after a cold beer.
