Tonight I Dined: Vancouver, BC Roundup
Vancouver, BC Canada is on track to become the greenest city by 2020...this level of environmental awareness makes it really easy to eat vegan here. The city is beautiful and I suggest taking the water taxi over to the public market on Granville Island for some awesome local goodies.

Acorn: Onion Barigoule, Potato Leek Gratin, Basil Puree, Crispy Shallot, Lemon Gastrique
This fine dining establishment is mostly vegan (clearly labelled), but does have an entree with cheese in it. The dish I ordered was incredible and very rustic, the crispy shallot added amazing texture and the basil puree and lemon gastrique played perfectly off each other.

Zend: Raw tacos with Guacamole, queso fresco, and pico de gallo, Rice Wraps
Coconut mango slaw filling, cilantro red pepper dip Cauliflower couscous
This open and airy mostly raw vegan establishment in the hip Yaletown is awesome. The tacos were more full of flavor than most cooked dishes I've had. The wraps were very light but the dipping sauce had a nice creamy heat and the cauliflower couscous was so fresh with a great crunch.

The Wallflower: Lemon tart
I didn't get to this modern diner for a meal (NB--they have vegan poutine on the menu!), but I managed to stop by for dessert and a drink. This lemon tart had the perfect graham crust and a creamy fruity filling.

Vegan Pudding & Co: matcha pudding and black sesame sauce
This pudding shop is a walk up window---very easy to miss--- but don't! This was my favorite thing I ate all trip. The green tea pudding was exotic and not too sweet, and the roasted sesame sauce was the perfect flavor pairing. The vegan whipped cream added the necessary lightness that was the cherry on top. ProTip: There is a food court a block away that you can enjoy your dessert sitting down because there is no seating at the pudding place.
