It's been a while...

I've disappeared for a few months while I settled in to the new state and a new job. But don't worry, I didn't stop eating delicious vegan food in the meantime. Plus, the long break means that there's a lot of content to add to the blog!

Let's start with famous New Haven apizza. My neighborhood has a nice restaurant, Da Legna, that has a separate vegan pizza menu! There are 7 pre-made pizza options with different vegetables and vegan meats, or you can build-your-own pie. I've tried the vegan mushroom sausage pizza as well as the arugula artichoke pizza. The pizza crust is thin and crispy, with lots of charred flavor from the brick oven. The cheeze is mild and not overpowering (like some vegan cheezes can be), and the sauce is perfectly savory.

While the vegan pizza options are great, the stars of the menu, in my opinion, are the vegan apps. I can build a meal from the vegan pasta fagioli and the balsamic brussel sprouts with pecans and craisins.
