Gobi Manchurian with Black Bean Noodles

I made a take on Gobi Manchurian, served with a side of black bean noodles...and it was awesome. Enjoy!

**Be very careful deep frying (following all instructions on your model). You may also pan fry**

Veg
1 bag cut, washed cauliflower florets
(you may wish to boil or microwave until very al dente if you like tender finished product. The florets should not fall apart at this stage though, because they must be firm to hold the batter and be dropped into the deep fryer).

Prepare this first.

Batter:
whole wheat flour (1/2 C)
corn starch (1/4 C)
garlic powder (2 tsp)
ground black pepper (2 tsp)
salt (dash)
soy sauce (1 Tbsp)
water (enough to form thin, but not too runny batter)

Mix dry ingredients first. Slowly add wet ingredients and whisk until thin batter forms. Toss cauliflower in batter (use hands for a thorough coating). Shake off excess. Deep fry for 4-5 minutes at 350 F. Hang fryer basket on the side out of oil. Deep fry a second time for about 1.5-2 minutes.

Manchurian Sauce:
chili sauce (to taste)
dried whole chili (3 to 4 ripped apart)
fresh ground ginger (1/4 to 1/2 inch piece)
fresh ground garlic (4 to 5 cloves)
1.5 Tbsp cornstarch
agave syrup (1 Tbsp)
soy sauce (to taste)
Chinese rice wine (1.5 Tbsp)
rice wine vinegar (2 tsp)
oil

In a large skillet or wok heat (on medium-high) oil, garlic, ginger and dried chili. When the garlic has browned slightly add rice wine and vinegar and cornstarch. Cook for 1 minute storring constantly and then add all other ingredients and cook for another minute. Add fried cauliflower and coat with sauce, cooking for an additional 1 to 2 minutes.

Black bean Noodles:
1 package black bean noodles (or any Asian style thin noodle)
2 tomatoes
fresh spinach (torn into bits)
garlic (3 cloves minced)
soy sauce (to taste)
dried whole whili (2 ripped apart)

This is a very quick side and I recommend you preparing this ahead of time so that you can focus on the gobi prep. I used these really tasty black bean noodles (http://www.explore-asian.com/products/organic-black-bean-spaghetti.html#.VOEVtWTaHNU), these are somewhat hard to find but definitely worth it!
