Sweet General Tso's Veggies

This recipe tastes pretty authentic and is more sweet than spicy (even though we use a lot of dried chilis!). To increase the spiciness level to your taste add chili paste or seeded fresh chilis. This recipe makes a lot of sauce (because it is the best part!) so you will probably have plenty of sauce to spoon over your jasmine rice just like take-out!


Sauce
4 Tbsp soy sauce
2 Tbsp mushroom soy sauce (see pics)
4 Tbsp Chinese rice wine (see pics)
4 Tbsp rice wine vinegar
2 Tbsp water or veg stock
8 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp sesame oil
2 Tbsp corn starch
3 Tbsp ginger-garlic paste
Mushroom Soy Sauce
Chinese rice wine














Vegetables
green beans
broccoli
cauliflower
red bell pepper
1/2 onion
2 cloves garlic minced
14 dried red chilis

Instructions
1. In a small bowl whisk together all of the sauce ingredients and set aside
Make the sauce and set it aside

2. In a large non-stick skillet or wok heat several tablespoons of vegetable oil
3. Add minced garlic and chilis and heat until garlic is slightly browned
4. Add all veggies and cook until al dente (or tender depending on your preference)
5. Add sauce to veggies and cook for another several minutes
6. Serve over jasmine rice
