Wilmington Roundup

May I present a long overdue post—the Wilmington Roundupfrom my July 4th long weekend in the first state. Let's get into it!

Chopped Thai Salad with kale, mushroom chick'n, red cabbage, carrots, red peppers, cilantro, sesame seeds, and Thai peanut dressing.

Baja Kali Bowl with black rice, walnut taco “meat”, avocado, black beans, tomatoes, pickled red onions, tortilla strips, cilantro, and green goddess dressing.

The menu was small for curbside pickup. No matter though, we ordered both salads. The food was amazing and filling for being on the healthy side. The green goddess dressing was the best thing on either plate. Green Box needs to bottle it and sell it!

The Olmec with BBQ jerk chick'n, avocado, kale, tomato, and cheezy garlic sauce.

Maryland Krab soup with hearts of palm and a tomato broth.

Rose Quartz bevvy of fresh citrus lemonade and a shot of hibiscus, ginger, and lemon juice.

Everything here was top-notch. The wait was long, but definitely worth it! Plus, sitting and waiting along the river walk was really nice. 10/10 am going back.

Tomato pie with San Marzano tomatoes, garlic, extra virgin olive oil and oregano.

This was an excellent cheezeless pizza. It was a huge square pie for just $15 bucks. We ate it curbside on Market St., but if I got to do it again, I'd be prepared with some garlic powder and chili flakes to

Peanut butter brownie (I think it's sourced from

Impossible burger and crinkle fries.

Santa Fe wrap with grilled chick’n, avocado, lettuce, tomato, chipotle aioli, and ranch with a side kale salad.

Le sigh, ok so this is one of those bad reviews. The pb brownie was excellent, but I suspect it's not housemade. The Impossible burger was solid, can't go wrong with that. The probably frozen fries were not salted enough and meh. The wrap had too much sauce and fell apart, making it difficult to eat. The chick'n was dense and tasteless, tofu would be so much better here. The most problematic thing was the side kale salad. Kale needs to be massaged so it doesn't stab your throat going down. This was dry, with almost no dressing, and just tasteless. Shameful! OK--I'll only go back to Daily Veg if I'm (1) desperate or (2) running in for that sweet sweet brownie.
