NJ VegFest Asbury Park Pop Up

This post is brought to you by a full belly. Because...

Today was the New Jersey VegFest vegan pop-up in Asbury Park! The venue was the historic Convention Center, built in the 1920's. Today's weather was mild for February, and the boardwalk was busy with people taking a stroll.

I was so excited to experience my first vegfest in the state and try some new vendors. Here's the rundown of all the goodies I enjoyed:
Asbury Park Boardwalk
Inside the convention center
The Mexi Boys: Fried burrito stuffed with spicy chik'n and rice and a jackfruit tamale.
The burrito was the best item I ate all day, I could have eaten 5 of these! The salsa was the best I've had since moving out of Texas.

The Samosa Shack: Golden dal stuffed samosa topped with  tamarind and cilantro chutneys. The menu had so many delicious flavors, it was difficult to choose just one. The vendors were remarkably nice, providing excellent customer service even in the hectic environment of a sold-out vegfest.

Caribreeze Vegan: Jamaican 'beef' patty. Flaky crust, check. Perfectly spiced interior, check. You may find me sopping by Ramapo, NY sometime soon to visit their storefront.

Pine Coast Culture Company: I can't say no to local kombucha on tap. I got the hibiscus pomegranate flavor from this Haddonfield, NJ based company. I really liked the flavor, but it doesn't top my faves list, because I like my booch really fizzy.

Asbury Park Roastery: This may be a bit of a cheatation, but my boyfriend went to grab a coffee from Asbury Park Roastery in the Convention Center (a permanent vendor and technically not part of vegfest). The were carrying Vegan Treats from Bethlehem, PA, which is a total fave, so he snagged me a chocolate dipped cannoli.

Baonanas: banana pudding with real fruit, mousse, and wafers (ube and coconut flavors). I got it because I'd never seen anything like it and was curious. I accidentally ordered the wrong size and got way more than I was bargaining for, but it was delicious. The ube flavor was my favorite!

What a great day! I can't wait to see what the next NJ VegFest pop up in Atlantic City, NJ has in store this summer!
