Tonight I Dined: Heart Beet Kitchen
So, you may notice me posting about restaurants in New Jersey. Big news...I've recently moved from Connecticut to start a job that I'm really excited about. Well, hello Garden State!
I recently treated myself for brunch at the Heart Beet Kitchen location in Westmont, NJ, about 10 minutes from the Cherry Hill Mall. They also have a location down the shore in Ocean City.
Everything on the menu looked delicious. I really wanted try the bread pudding (you don't often see it on a vegan menu)...but I decided to go for more of a meal with the cauliflower sandwich. You get to choose buffalo or BBQ cauliflower, and of course, I went spicy. The cauliflower was just tossed in the sauce, it wasn't breaded or fried, so it wasn't quite like cauliflower wings you may have tried before. But it was good! The only drawback was the sandwich fell apart a little, I think because of the generous slathering with ranch dressing. So...I grabbed a fork, and dug in. The side kale salad was nice and light, very citrusy. Really delicious meal, I can't wait to go back to try some of their desserts!
